just made a deal for this. I have been hunting this sucker for a while and super excited to get this in my collection!

Now crossing my fingers for a safe shipping and delivery!

I love Panic and a vinyl copy of this is a gem. My buddy lived a stones throw from Athens GA when this came out. He fondly recalls the late 80s when "...Panic's first record came out. And it was ACTUALLY A RECORD!" ...for me,I long for "Til the Medicine Takes" on vinyl..I dont think they ever issued it,but it's my fav Panic album.

anyway,on friday I hit up a local thrift store...dug thru about 500 records, and finally found a VG copy of this for $.99 ...

Such a good album, and movie.

Just bought Ten today...!

Scored an original pressing of L.A. Woman by The Doors off the eBay today (at least according to the seller anyway). Can't wait to see how that is!
Are we there yet? No, never there yet. Keep it rollin', we're paid by the mile.

Wow, that is pricey, but cool finds. I keep looking for 80s-90s vinyl, but it's hard to find anything decent. I sure wish I had money back then to buy albums.

I am recently into collecting self-titled LPs. I think I'm going to make this a fun way to look for records. I found Elton John's "Elton John" ($5) and Boz Scaggs' "Boz Scaggs" ($4). I found out he had an earlier release called "Boz" though.

I also found Simon and Garfunkel's "Wednesday Morning, 3 a.m.". Very folksy.

I have ordered Pink Floyd's "Momentary Lapse" and it should be on it's way. I paid $17 for it. A bit high, but I can't find it anywhere... never even seen a real copy of it. I just want to hear "Turning Away" on my system :)

"Rufusized" by Rufus featuring Chaka Khan which doesn't even appear on her discography on Wikipedia. And I just realized that the 45 I found by Rufus "Tell me Something Good" has Chaka on it too! I had no idea. cool stuff you learn.

John Cougar's "Nothin' Matters and What if it Did" which puts me at 5 Mellencamp albums, I think. My wife loves him.

My dad had some old albums in his closet. I took home the Clockwork Orange soundtrack which I recalled haunted me when I was young. Good stuff.

Random... you look for ages for some records by more obscure bands then in one day you find two!
Today's finds are
Solution - Cordon Bleu
Solution - Fully Interlocking
I love this Dutch band's first two albums Solution and Divergence which are proggy bordering on jazz fusion things but very difficult to find (I have them on an odd twofer) and while the two later albums above are much more bland exercises in coffee table jazz rock, it was cool to find both for not much money.

Also scored
Journey - Next
Journey - Infinity

and some bargain bin £1 stuff:
Waterboys - This is the Sea
Steve Miller Band - Abracadabra
Kate Bush - Moments of Pleasure 12"
Yes - Wonderous Stories 12" on blue vinyl
Linn LP12, OL RB300, Ortofon 2M Black, Graham Slee Era Gold V, Cambridge Audio 840C, Modwright SWL9.0SE, Audio Research VS55, Sonus Faber Concerto Domus. Luxman L-309X, Yamaha YP511, Luxman T-88V, Pioneer PD-S501, ProAc Tablette 50.

I picked up Ravi Shankar's first lp THREE RAGAS, recorded in 1956 in London and released in the States on Angel, in near mint condition at a thrift store. Some claim it is his best recording; I'm in no position to make that claim, but it is very good . . .

Gerry Rafferty - Gerry Rafferty

Picked this up at a car boot last Sunday. Its on VISA 7006 which is from the US. Album dates from 1974 but this release is 1978.

Plays beautifully and the sleeve is all nice and crisp - has been obviously stored well.

Paid 50p.

Regards

Ian

So, a month or so ago I bought a Doors LP at my local used record store. I paid somewhere between $8-12 US for it (I've sold a few turntables through them so they usually give me a discount, and the plastic outer sleeve has a $12 tag from them). Album is in decent condition.

It's unlike any LA Woman album I've seen and I'm wondering what it is I have. An aftermarket, or actual early release? Says "Banned Window" on the price tag, but the only such albums I've ever seen are standard cardboard jackets, no window. Thanks for any info anyone cares to provide.

Bought a few today, and was given some...
Bought:
Beatles - Rock and Roll Music Vol.1 - £1, looks ok, but sleeve is a bit knackered.
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run - £1
- The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle - £2
The Drifters - Double LP, can't remember the name - 98p (weird price, don't quite get that...)
John Lennon - John Lennon Collection - £1
Bob Dylan - Hard Rain - £2 - big surface scratch on it, but plays fine.

Given
Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl - plays great
Joe Cocker - Mad Dogs and Englishmen
John Lennon & Yoko Ono Lennon - Double Fantasy
3LP 60 Top Ten Hits of the 60s.

So not too shabby a day - 10 albums for £8!
