Thanks for the parts tip Jim I will give them a call next time I need something which may be soon when I look into what is wrong with the brakes
Yes I was aware of the wading plug and it is the one thing Toyotas do seem to have in their favour in not needing them. The problem with installing wading plugs here is imagine a typical wet season day were you spend the day back and forth across creeks with slashing rain and mud. Crawling underneath to fit a wading plug in the mud and monsoon rain does not fill you with joy, maybe if I put my thinking cap on I can work out a closing valve idea that can be done from in the cab. I will look into the starter and alternator very soon, I have fixed up my starter recently, but dont want the trouble again in the future. The alternator apart its aversion to water is just not big enough especially if you do a lot of stopping and starting so again I really appreciate the tip.
Ok guys which was the best Landy ever?
I missed out on a very nice series 2a with a turbo charged diesel Perkins in it, IMO this was the best of both worlds.
Also I recently in a dealers in Cairns sat in the new model and IMO the spirite has been lost a bit with far too many electronics. I cant imagine going 1000km into the bush and the computer decides you are not going home. Have they moved the seat even closer to the drivers door?
