A little of my art underway

Postby satanfriendly » 13 Mar 2012 22:40

Being in contact with another VE member drifted in to talking art.

Since I dabble in art while home I thought I'd let you have a preview of a painting I started the last time around. About halfway at the moment and quite an adventure for me being as it's the biggest piece I've attempted measuring some 2m x 2m. Based around three girls (obviously!) I saw sat at a bar out here in Mexico and part of a series I've been picking away on over the past few years. Two photo's from different light angles.

Any comments very welcome.

Love the light. Neat emphassis, eyes drawn to feature shapes (like the real thing ?) immediately. Nice choice of what to leave out too. Like the size, that's bold. Great stuff, SF. It's bona fide. Keep it going, every encouragement.

It's called 'what to do with those Christmas paper plates you tried to give the in-laws their dinner on'**. I think it is more a case of 'who is it in the photo?'.

Here's a sample which might give a bit better idea of where I'm aiming with this:

I slid this down the screen. I think 1 row is enough. Like the style a lot.

Cheers,

Hi,
I like it, but lack the language to say "why".
Good work! :)

:D :D :D

Actually liked the "Study in Desire #1" blue hats? as there was no connection at all to the plates..... #-o Originally thought they were mountain abstracts...... :?: Thumbs up to Ver 2, hopefully the Santa hats get "toned" <---- :) down a bit..... :)

I would never ask "who". this being a forum on the net and all, however, from the link it must be "Sophie"...... :-k For me it was, as LD mentioned, the form, shape and pose in the photo that inspired the artwork...... :-k

Fred and keep painting..... :) and photoing if that was you.......

At last, an alibi for sitting endlessly in the pole dancing bar, studying shape, form, and movement

Great stuff.

is there anything you can't do?

In all honesty I never consider myself good at anything, but if people can gain some pleasure then I have acheived my goal......wish I could dance though.

from the link it must be "Sophie"......

Mmmmmm....Not actually! I don't know who the girl in the photo is, but I do want to meet her. Sophie is just a 'very good friend' who also happens to be very good at dancing. Nuff said.

You've sussed me out LD. The paintings give the impression I hang around lap dancing clubs and sleezy bars..well in fact I............ :-k My wife just thinks I go to the local shops late at night :^o

Yeah, great.

I second Bauzace's comment!
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair (Douglas Adams).

Well,
not quite sure, but it may look like somebody I know, but don't know the place.
