Elcassette was bloody marvellous, went to the Sony launch at Harrods, 1977 ? ish ?
They were playing Donna Summer "I Feel Love" on the Elcassette , sounded fantastic!!

It's just a great visual. It's always been done. CD's you don't see spin so it's not as visually pleasing I think. Reel to reel tape on the other hand... those are still in movies right?

More TV/movie shots that come to mind are Lost, Twin Peaks, The Strangers, Alcatraz, and one of my favorite vinyl scenes (next to the one in Shaun of The Dead of course)... Cop Land. LOL.

Everyone I know would disown me if my room looked like that...I might even disown myself. I do envy the variety though, but isn't one good example of everything enough?

Whoever said 8 Track is the next new thing, they're crazy. The 16 2/3 vinyl format is going to take over the whole industry baby

They played a couple of records during this week's episode (they also played The Wedgewoods' "September in the Rain" 45 in an earlier scene), each on a different console.

Of course, I was hoping the shot would linger over the equipment for a few moments in each scene, but they didn't offer enough visual evidence (for me) to determine what those consoles were. If anyone happens to find out, since that show pays such keen attention to detail, please share it with the rest of us!
