To me it looks like a G820 family body with a 3rd party G800 family D110(E) replacement needle. A G800 would have the Goldring logo on the front instead, and the plastic frame would have a cutout in the back part of the bottom instead of fully enclosing the bottom...
Many thanks for your replies guys. After a quick search it seems that this is a budget cart - is this the case or have I misread? Does anyone think it is worth replacing the whole cartridge - 14 years old ish and undetermined usage? Will the benefit be noticeable? What sort of cartridge would be a suitable replacement looking at the headshell (may not be the correct term!? Would something like the ortofon 2m red be a good choice - trying to keep it under £100 if possible. The turn table is a rotel rp 1500. Thanks again for helping out a novice it is much appreciated!
The G820 is certainly capable of decent results, much depends on the quality of the rest of your system as to whether it would be worth replacing the whole cartridge. Certainly the Ortofon you mention is a decent model, but for the £15 it costs to replace the wrong stylus you currently have mounted with a proper elliptical tip it must be worth giving the Goldring a try.
Ah, I didn't realise the stylus was wrong - I thought the two models may be compatible - seems like a nice cheap first port of call! Will give that a go first. Thanks smeg, and others. Any other advice also welcome

Hi
That should be suitable. Although it is strictly speaking a Goldring, not Goldring Lenco, cartridge, the two names are sometimes used interchangeably because Goldring imported and re-branded Lenco turntables. Therefore, the description really means "Goldring 820e"!
