Chuck Berry - the London Sessions
Big Brother and the Holding Company - Cheap Thrills
The Beatles - the White Album
Michael Parks - Closing the Gap
Odetta - Odetta sings Dylan

I went to this estate sale today. Lots of cool and nicely maintained stereo equipment...and a truckload of beat up vinyl. I'm happy about the titles I found, and hopefully they'll clean up okay, but they're pretty grimy right now.
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

I had the Woodentops - Giant on cassette at one time. I'm not sure I loved it, though.

What do you think of it?

I got the Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the way here recently (Warner Bros. 1-48140) and I really wasn't expecting much from a engineering/pressing/mixdown standpoint and boy was I wrong. My friends I own and buy a lot of vinyl, new and used and I must admit this is one of the best "sounding" pieces I've had in a while. Vocals clear and centered in the soundfield, strong bass strings and snare drum pop. And very "black" background. I guess someone (Rick Ruben) got their stuff together on this pressing.

Would anyone believe me if I said that I picked up a first pressing of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Second Helping for $6? Well I did.

Also got ZZ Top Eliminator and Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2.
