Happy Thanksgiving all!
I just found a copy of Introducing the Beatles, which I thought might be an original. The only questionable characteristic is the dead wax area has no mechanical stampings. Could still be from the Santa Monica plant, and all the other factors seem to be OK (well, I've never seen a confirmed cover so can't be sure about the quality of the cover, but it's glossy, no imperfections in "Honey" or the VJ brackets or the "B" in Beatles, no colored dots, a mono-cover, etc. etc.). It's a black "VJ b
Block" style label with reasonably clear silver printing, "the Beatles" above the spindle, etc.
When I played the record, it sounds MUCH better than my known counterfeit copy, and quite similar to my 5th pressing Parlophone copy of PPM. But...the lead in to "I Saw Her Standing There" clips off Paul's count except for the "four." The counterfeit is the same. I read somewhere that VJ engineers inexplicably cut off the count for some or all of the pressings, but I can't find that reference.
Anyone know if original copies of Introducing have Paul's count off cut this way? Thanks! I'm happy either way as, though a bit scratched, it was a good price even for a counterfeit.
