Odd leveling on 5.1se???

Hi all, I'm new to this site and new to vinyl....
I just picked up my TT, a Pro-ject 5.1SE. The issue I'm having is that the tone arm slides toward "home position" when perfectly balanced. I used a level on the platter and it's perfect. It sits on a Ground it 2 and that is perfectly level as well. I didnt order any tools to adjust the tone arm because everything I read said it comes perfectly set up. I adjusted the counterweight accordingly to solve this in the short term, but I know this can be damaging to to outside wall of the grooves in the record and probably not very good for the needle either.
Any advice would be much appreciated!

There should be a slow drift towards the arm rest applied by the anti-skating mechanism to counteract the skating force in the groove that pulls the arm towards the spindle.

I always unhook the little anti skate weight that hangs from a nylon thread before adjusting the counter weight. This should stop the arm from drifting when it's set at 0 grams. I hope this is helpful
