Hi all,
I hope everyone is well. I am very new to the forum but have very much enjoyed reading all the posts on vintage turntables; so much so that I recently acquired a Dual 510 for $100 and am interested in getting it looked over if possible (it runs and the seller told me that it was playing fine for him, but I haven't played anything on it yet). I think the spindle might be a trifle bent as the platter seems to undulate while playing; several of the bolts to hold it to the plinth are pretty bent, but I can take care of those. The pitch control seems to be working and everything else seems to be in order, although the plinth is in fair to bad shape, so I'm going to build one out of butcher block for now, and then may change it later, as I have been reading a lot of the posts here about materials. Does anyone know of anyone in the Boston area who can service it for me, adjust the tonearm, etc.? Any thoughts would be most appreciated!
John
