Rek-O-Kut B-12H help

Postby amid80 » 02 Feb 2012 00:59

Hi all, first time posting after lingering for a while. I'm currently servicing a very nice ROK Rondine Deluxe B-12H. It had a cork mat that I removed and no factory mat. For now I was able to find a brown/red mat for a 33/78 player (small spindle hole only), where the B-12 takes a 3 speed mat and stroboscope disc. Does anyone have a 3 speed stroboscope disc they can scan so I can clean it up and print out one for my TT project? I'd love to find a correct mat too. Thanks.

For the strobe, look under Tools at the top.

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply. That will be a start but I'm actually looking for a Rek-O-Kut strobe disc that will mount permanently to the mat fitting over the 45 spindle on my B-12H platter. The one on my mat was in very poor condition while the mat was in really nice condition. There wasn't enough of the old one to try to salvage it.

Check ebay, I think there is one for sale right now. Might not be under Rek-O_kut though...

Yeah, it's kind of part of the platter. Why do you feel the need to remove it?

I have never heard of anyone wanting to remove the spindle. Is it damaged/bent?

amid80, after rereading you original post I have more questions. You mentioned a 45 spindle, and the fact that the mat you found is for a 33/78 spindle. That would be how this TT comes. Is the spindle you're trying to remove the 45 spindle? That would definitely not be part of the platter and should just lift off. If it won't, then someone has glued or forced it somehow. Good luck, and let us know what's up.

B-12H should have a "pop-up" 45 adapter built in. I have no idea how to take it off.

Yes, the 45 adaptor just spins and pops up, as long as it is working right. It cannot and should not be removed. Not sure why you would want to remove it.

Charlie, you're confusing the heck out of me. I've only had experience with one B12H, but you seem to be talking about something different than I have?
