Lubrication - motor DQX500

Postby haflermicro » 05 Jan 2012 17:58

Hi!

My DQX is from 1979 and still working perfectly....and how many turns the platter has taken for me through the years...god only knows.
Does anyone know if the DD-motor/bearing for this TT is free of service or if it should be oiled at some point? From the manual you don't get any infos on this subject.
This only to be pre-cautional as there is no - and never were any - noise nor bearing play too be found.

Thanks you for your inputs :-)

I've got a similar problem with my dqx500. 33 1/3 works fine but 45 doesn't lock in. The lamp locks in if start 33 first then go to 45. But if i start 45 first the lamp doesn't lock in and goes on and off. I'm hoping someone can upload a copy of the service manual.
On another note, i've also wondered about the bearing as the manual says nothing about bearing lubrication.
