Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012)

Liked her for "Saving all my love" and "The Greatest (love of all)". Shall be missed fondly.

I grew up listening to her as she was one of the only things my parents agreed on musically (pop. musically, at least), so even though I hadn't heard her stuff in some years, I have fond memories of singing her songs with my dad and sister while driving to-and-fro.

A good Record Co promotion and being a good singer - 2 different sides of MUSIC.

Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Etta James are and were way above Whitney Houston...

A Life of Rich and Famous...Stop snorting a baby powder, when you don't know, what to do with money.
ABBA - Agnetha and Frida were making way more money and popularity were way bigger than of Whitney Houston...And the 2 LADIES doing pretty good.

Suggestion to youngsters, who want to be a Rich And Famous:

MAKE SURE, YOU CAN HANDLE THAT....

No one said anything about Whitney being Bigger n' Better than Etta James and friends... and obviously her drug use wasn't doing her a whole buncha good.
But those are not the points that were brought up, so I don't see why....

In Nelson George's excellent book THE DEATH OF RYHTHM AND BLUES, Whitney Houston is exhibit A. She did not sing soul, she sang "white" with "white" arrangements. Her tremendous financial success meant she dominated the market. Read the book to learn more. drukqs are not the story, drukqs are everywhere, and everyone must navigate them to survive.Music is the story.
