Had the arm a while - but had no real home for it - tried it on the PT1 but preferred the 774,so when the Vector came up thought it would be a good way to really try the Audiomods out thoroughly.

So far sounds pretty good, the Vector sounds solid, clean and stable, lovely clean background, surprising bass but only tried it with the Adcom cart so far, have yet to try it with the DL304 yet.

The Adcom is a HOMC I picked up a while ago for nought then had an accident with bending the cantilever,a mate with access to a good microscope and steadier hands than me had a go at straightening it with great success.Always sounded decent enough but thoroughly outclassed by the Denon which is tighter, cleaner and more natural to my ears, expect to be putting it on the Audiomods within the next week.

PS note the washer to increase downforce :? as the Adcom is so light :P

I found these qualities with my Vectored PT1. Does the deck come with a K-Drive or similar. Have you listened to any piano music Abril. I found a major improvement here. You're in for a treat when you swap to the DL304 I reckon.

It's what I would guess is a very early Vector with a small PCB under the switch.

Tried some piano music (Bartok - Kocsis) and was mightily impressed by the stability but not by the tone as it showed up a rather flat, nasal quality - smooth but - well - offputting.

The Adcom has now come off and have fitted my modded (glued and reinforced bracket with captive nuts) Empire CD4 cartridge (saving the best till last  ) but it may be some time c'os this combo sounds so goooooood :D
Beautifully open and natural - listening to Ry Cooder - Bop till you drop right now - stunning.

No shims.

Hi

Still not tried the DL304,been very busy at home redecorating, but with the Empire it just sounds so right - not that I've had much time.
The Empire is a REX440D vintage CD4 cartridge with a '4 dimensional' stylus, guess it dates to early - mid seventies at which time according to the little label inside it cost $69.95,bought it NOS about 18 months ago.
Only thing of real note about it is that it is very sensitive to capacitance to which end fortunately my cables are only about 100pf and the Hart has had the MM input capacitors removed - even an extra 100pf was easily audible.

Never know may get round to putting the Denon on soon

washer and blutack
only 0.6g

Of course I could have taken out the last lead shim on the counterweight but couldn't be a---d [-X

Got the Empire on now (3g heavier) which balances out fine.
