Then I put the black plastic piece in the position of 4mm. The second option is to put 2 metal 2 mm each. 2x2: 4, jejej ...

Thanks for your advice.

Forgiveness. I do not speak English and use the Google translator.

Sorry, understood.
The 4mm is a pretty good starting point for most non Rega cartridges. It works on all of mine.

Enjoy!!

Bacobits OK. Thanks for your help.
Pobdré this is the one I have at home. I hope that does not harm the sound of REGA 5:

The exception would be the Denon cartridges (various DL-103 and Dl-S1) which are much shorter than most cartridges-but still a bit taller than the Rega cartridges. My DL-S1 works well with the 2mm shim but not so much with the 4mm of shim.

I have already put the lift of 4mm. It is a separate function REGA original plastic wedge 4mm.
I have another metal of 2mm. I think back REGA RB700 arm is more elevated than the front where the cartridge.
I think it best to switch to the metal of 2mm. Best for 4mm 2mm too.

How does it sound, Carloski? Seems like it should be an excellent combo.

Sounds great. It is warm.
I'm thinking about changing the phono preamp for GRAHAM SLEE amplicicador ERA GOLD.
Is likely to remove from my system the Clearaudio BASIC + and put in place GRAHNAM SLEE ERA GOLD.

I can anyone clarify this?. Should I change?.
THANKS.

Carloski,

I own a Rega P5 for several years now, and also installed a Benz Micro Glider Low output. Fantastic combination. I use a spacer at the base of the pivot to raise the arm to accomodate the Glider. The detail, soundstage, Tri-dimensionality and warmth of this cartridge captivated from the beginning. And it should as the cart costs about the same as the P5.

However, when I manage to break the stylus by accident two years later, I was faced with a $600 proposition to have the stylus replaced. Hart broken I started investigating what suitable less expensive alternative was there.

I foud it with the Soundsmith in New York State (www.Sound-Smith.com), with their highest level of stylus replacement, their "optimized contour diamond/ruby stylus" replacement. The needle is made of a single slab of ruby, so when you look at it in the light it shines as a red crystal.

It takes about 50 hours of playing to be broken in. It sounded awesome from the start, but after the break-in it was sublime. It made what was a great cartridge to begin, far better. This mod is not cheap ($350 + shipping) but it's worth every penny in gold, and still less expensive than the manufacturer. I would not suggest you do it right now, but when your stylus wears out and it is time for replacement, consider doing this mod.

Buena suerte y buena musica. Que disfrutes.
