Led Zeppelin albums are not rare in US and in US pressings.
If it press of 70's or re-issue in 80's, simply by looking at catalogue numbers.
Pressed in 70's would have SD and 4 digit number, re-issues would have SD and 5 digit number.
I'm surprised seeing in local record store LZ re-issue albums priced @ $20 or so...simply too overpriced. UK pressings I've seen only at record shows, like WFMU...

OMG I would say, if I did found LZ LP I with brown/purple label or LZ II, III or IV with Atlantic While Label(Promo) for less than a $100 each....

And a very good music...I think, I have that one....

Yes. It was the only ACB album I didn't have on vinyl. Scored a cardboard sleeve copy of Muscle of Love last week.

I don't collect all of Alice Cooper, just earlier...until 1978.
I have bought at some record show "Love It To death" - on Straight with a "thumb" on the cover for $3.

I have a Rough Trade original :D

Jimod99,
Your'e lucky. I never bought one at the time. I would have liked an original but I'm getting cold and burnt fingers attempting to buy any blatantly popular music on s/h LP. Last two pop albums (Man Who Sold the World, Roxy 1st) I bought were badly graded and I had to ask for refund. As for Marineville I think those LPs got played because it was very good, and so although I'd still like the original, I think I'll bide my time. To be honest I got tired and when the new pressing promised to be like the original (in format), I went for it. But it feels a little wrong buying represses with all that old stuff waiting for loving new homes. And then the price of mint stuff seems to be going through the roof like an old Vostok to the stars and no sign of it coming back down.

The best LPs are those which no one much listens to, if at all. Morton Feldman, Xenakis, No Pussy Footing, even Fahey all worked out well. Certainly contemporary modern and avant-garde composition is a winner. I think if you don't own one already (I do) then an original Metal Machine Music is likely to be mint. My moto is find all the stuff people hate (or pretend to like) and buy that instead.

Just received notice my copy of "Adele 21" XL label from England is on it's way to America. I read the Columbia (USA) pressings were not as good. Can't wait to hear this one.

Not sure what pressing, lots of conflicting info: it's on Polydor, the paler ladies have a greenish colouring, the glossy laminating stops short of the edging.... Need to do some more research me thinks. Whatever, it's in fantastic condition.

I suppose this isn't going to be the easiest introduction to Mr Davis, but I decided to get something that's out of my comfort zone for a change. NM.

Been meaning to get this for ages, but all the copies I came across had been "well loved". This one's mint.

Used to have this on tape. About time I bought it for myself! Mint.

I've been playing the same beat up copy for years. It was time for a new copy of an old favorite!
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.

Just a quick word on "Bitches Brew" as an intro to Miles Davis.

I like the Davis "Fusion" period albums that bracket "BB", "In Silent Way"(1969) and "A Tribute to Jack Johnson" (1971), a great deal. I have, however, never been able to get my head around "Bitches Brew".

I know "BB" is supposed to be THE Miles Davis fusion album and perhaps THE defining fusion album, period, but it sounds like disconnected riffs, bleeps and boops to me. NOT saying it is bad, just saying I don't get it.

If "Bitches Brew" clicks for you, great. If not, don't give up on fusion nor Miles Davis. Be willing to try other Davis albums and experiment with other fusion like "Weather Report" or Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters".

IMHO, YMMV and all that.
