P3-24 Vs. Rp3

So it looks like the P3-24 has been replaced by the RP3. Does anyone know what distinguishes the latter? and why the change?

Will the PSU still work with the RP3?

The RP3 features a new RB303 tonearm and has a newly designed plinth and brace between tonearm mount and the main bearing.

It does work with TT psu.

There's a detailed description on the Rega website.

Here's a great review with comparisons.

Thanks. Would I be able to use my Ortofon 2M Red with either of these?

Hi, The Rega tone arm head matches the 2M cart shape, so simple to fit.

I have a 2M Blue on my p3-24 and I put small washers under the 3 mounting bolts for the tone arm. 2M carts are deeper than Rega and without the spacers the arm lift does not clear the record.

Regards

Although I do recommend adjusting the arm height, I would point out that the lifter is adjustable.

Cheers,

How do you adjust the height of the lifter?

Thanks.

There is a little allen head set screw on the pad collar, you loosen and raise the pad a bit higher on the stem, then snug the screw back up.
