need help on garrard dd-75 ttable

Postby georgepogi69 » 10 Feb 2012 04:27

need help guys, i bought a spoiled dd75 (110v)...i opened it up and saw that the previous owner burned the internal transformer by plugging it in to 240v...i had the transformer rewinded (primary winding) in the philippines and ask them to convert it to 230v instead so i will no longer use a step-down transformer and i told them not to touch the secondary winding....everything went fine up until it was hand-carried to me to Singapore...

this is my predicament now when it arrived....one of the terminals on the secondary winding, marked with the arrow, was cut and this wires goes to the motors...i do not how many volts is this, whether its 6,12 or 18 volts to supply the power to the motor...my cousin who had it fixed in the Philippines did'nt bother to ask the technician...I'm having a hard time searching for the schematics or service manual over the net....

i do hope that you can help me because my next step is just to replace it one for one if i do have the right specs of the transformer...

just to help out, i attached the transformer photo

Garrard is supposed have sourced the DD motors from Matsushita. Try to compare the motor with those from the various Technics DD turntables and if you find one that is identical then you can use the data of that motor as service manuals for Technics turntables are available.
