Dave Brubeck Quartet- TheIr Last Time Out - Vinyl?

I have just become aware of this album. I listened to samples on Amazon and it definatly makes the cut to be in my collection. Is there any chance it is on vinyl and is it worth the bother and cost over CD?

As it is a release of a 1967 concert tape an LP release would make sense.

I am not aware of one in existance but betcha there will be one along any minute. From the looks of the timings of the cuts looks like it will either end up on two LPs or be edited for vinyl.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the response. I'll keep looking for the vinyl but I'll probably end up with a CD.

Most (nearly all) of my Brubeck collection is on vinyl which I have owned for a long time. About the time CDs were appearing is when I discovered Bebop and Hard Bop and found myself listening to less of the "West Coast" sound. While I still love Bebop I am rediscovering the more "cool" Jazz.

I'm fairly sure there's no vinyl release... Currently.

I am thinkin' that as it is an analog tape originaly a vinyl release makes sense in todays market.

..and if you don't own this you should. As wonderful and the Monk/Trane issues of the past are - this is even better.

I am going to buy that Monk Trane as well. The Last Time Out album should be released on LP. If it does then I am most certainly buying it.

The Monk/Coltrane is still in print at Mosaic...and it only costs $30. It is a great performance for sure.

Thanks 'handle - just ordered!

Not bought from them before as it's Stateside - let's see how it gets on via air freight. I hope they pack well...
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair (Douglas Adams).

Per RECORD COLLECTOR review, the sonics are excellent, the performance is excellent, but MONO only.
