Anyone here would care to share any experiences with this cartridge? How does it compare to other budget cartridges like the ortofon om5e or audio technica at95e?

At about $150 it is a little overpriced isn't it?

That's the Elys2, not the Bias.
I had a Bias on my first Planar 2 and really liked it at the time. But in comparison with, say the Elys, the bass was a little flat and the treble a bit harsh.
But that's just me and that's only in comparison with a cartridge nearly twice the price.
I f you like it then it's good enough.

thanks for your inputs! Trying to decide what cartridge upgrade from my om5e. i was thinking if the bias 2 would be a significant improvement from the ortofon. judging from your comment, it would seem that the rega has similar tonal quality compared to the ortofon.

Upgrade with an OM 20 (or OM 30) stylus on your OM 5E is better, IMO.

What turntable do you have? The Rega Bias 2 has a very different sound compared to the Ortofon. The Ortofon sounds good, but it's rather bright and has a pretty poor low end in my experience (P1 had the Ortofon OM5 on it). I recently bought the Bias 2 and it has a much fuller sound to my ears, without being too bright. Has a great low end too. I don't think its overpriced either.

Hi, i have the stock om5e on my rega rp1. thanks for responding! so it's a toss up between the rega bias and the audio technica. if the rega sounds similar to the at95e, i might be convinced to give this cart a try or i might give a go to the performance pack.
