You can replace the control with 2 fixed power resistors to get it working again until you find a proper replacement. I haven't found the right part for one of mine yet. You could use some other power adjustable resistor, but you have to be careful how you fit and protect it because it works at high voltage.

Hi.
I search for the scheme of speed control, values of resistors and a potentiometer.

Hi.

Did you manage to find any? This is a very common problem someone out there must be offering a repair service or replacement parts by now. Been looking myself wit no luck.

Where did you purchase it, and how well did it fit/mount in the existing space in the 4HF ?

Bought in radio shop. Face value of 10 KOm. Approximately picked up for the size. Put on the same place - everything approached, even the handle approached on design.

The control is a 10k wirewound, I would guess that any 10k potentiometer with sufficient power handling capacity will work. The trick is getting one that will fit and look the part. Both my 4HFs have faulty controls.

What power is the motor? Watts divided by local voltage should give you current and [current x current x 10k] will give a guide to power (buy something bigger than that number) It looks to be way over 10 watts to me. Makes it hard to buy one. I'll bet whatever you buy won't fit in the little cage, so you'd have to design a new one. Don't enclose it in anything that blocks airflow as it needs good flow to dissipate the heat.
