Has anyone seen these "DJ Tech Pro" SL1200MK6 turntables popping up on Amazon and eBay?

:?: Image :?:

I've been looking into the name; looks like a Chinese attempt at a direct drive table. I don't see a strobe or any meaningful specifications except a nasty S/N ratio.

The product page is http://www.djtechpro.com/product_detail.asp?cate_id=62&subcate_id=106&product_id=528

looks like it's a subsidiary of First Audio Manufacturing of First Audio Group Limited, aka "FIDEK," a Hong Kong company. (see http://www.fidek.com.hk)

My first thoughts are that it's probably a cheap attempt to scavenge the 1200 market; but, I want to know if anyone has actually touched or seen one in real life. After all, you never know; people once thought Japanese electronics were crap...

Looks like any one of a number of cheap/fly weight lookalikes coming out of China that in no way perform like the real lengendary Technics SL-1200Mk2 from Japan. The specs should give you a hint as to how bad it will perform. These things are tarageted at nieve high school kids and their dumb parents who pay for them.

- stunned by the $499 price tag! I looked again, no wow or flutter specs. #-o

...for the price of a used SL1200, I was just hoping someone would clue me in to the diggs.

If anyone does see one of these, please report back!

At least the tonearm does not look so cheap. I can think of many other worse USB turntables currently on the market.

$499 will buy you a SL-1200Mk2 in very nice shape if you do a little looking and no way would I pay $499 for that, excuse my English, POS DJ Tech Pro. Threre's no specs listed for obvious reasons, they suck.
