Denon Dp 47F tonearm problem, please help!

Postby bargus » 05 Nov 2011 14:46

Hi there !

The auto return on my Denon dp 47F has stopped working, it behaves as an manual turntable.
Everything else works just fine, it just dosent stop in the end of the record and goes back.
Ive read somewhere that it could be a problem with the micro processor board...

Is it possible to fix this or maybe find a sparepart for this beutiful & lovely machine.

Would be very happy for some tips and help regarding this matter.

Kindest & best regards

I'm not sure if the mechanism is similar to the DP-50, but it could be that the LED used for the arm sensor ( it just shines onto a CdS cell when the arm is at the end of the record ) is broken. The CdS cell too might be covered in dust, or broken.

It's in Japanese but there are a few pictures here of a repair to a DP-50 arm sensor involving replacing both the LED and CdS cell.
