After lurking this thread for a while I decided to chime in. Recently bought a P5 at the newly reduced prices

Quite nice from the start, but I had bigger plans - not all smooth sailing mind you. Got the TTPSU and found it tightened up the sound generally. Then got Michael's double pulley, silicone belts and counterweight. Again, more improvement, definition. But, still some noise floor to deal with. So I got Frank's Groovetracer Reference platter. Overall, a totally potent combination for me now. The table absolutely sings and I am now experiencing a truly black background for perhaps the first time. Magic. At the moment am running a Garrott K2 MM. Also have a Denon DL103r nuded and in an Aluminium body and an AT150MLX. Each cartridge has real character now. The AT150MLX is VERY clean and quite precise and neutral. The Denon DL103R is all about silky mids and smoothness and of course the warmth. But right now really enjoying the Garrott - has some real character that is not at all contrived - a very nice presence and nice balance.
So thanks to Michael and Frank for their efforts and innovation - they have certainly helped me move a good turntable, in stock form, to a much higher level. Can't stop spinning this week and I really need to get more sleep .....
