Valve amplifier identification

Postby vinnyelectronic » 21 Nov 2011 12:04

Can anyone help me out and identify this power amp? The attached pre-amp is Leak but as yet I am unable to find out the make / model of the power amp. Any comments / suggestions very welcome, Vince194531945219455194561945719458

It is also a Leak just the color tell that, but not sure which one. as i only have experience of the stereo 20.
Looks like it might sound quite nice, but in mono, now you just need another one and ditch the pre as it will not do the amp justice.

Perhaps it might help to eliminate what it's not ? It's not a Leak quad II, chances are you already know that though.

Perhaps it's a 'compatible' quad II from a 3rd party manf ? But valve line up is not an identical clone ?

Very many thanks for the info. I'm looking at some US sites now as the power input looks 110V ac. Yes the format does look like Quad but the config looks wrong. Vince

Looks like an EMI Orthotone STD 373 converted to KT66s..The original used EL34s. :)

Opps  It is amazing the color is exactly that of early Leaks though. Well spotted on the changed valves, you can see were the print is changed.
