SL-1210 Mk 2

Postby Van_Isle » 15 Nov 2011 09:10

Just wanted to say that I took the plunge and obtained a SL-1210 Mk 2 ... 2001 vintage I think. A bit scuffed-up but not used for DJ work far as I am told.

I'm trying my Shure V15III on it right now.

Unfortunately this also means that I'll have to part with my SL-1401. I have a couple things to fix up on it 1st (sticky buttons & interconnects).

Sounds very nice .... lots of depth there. The stylus is brand new so I expect it will only get better. So my final (yeah right!) 'stable' of turntables will be the SL-1210, Sony PS-X60 and a Harman Kardon T60.

The good thing with the Technics is when you do want to upgrade there are plenty of mods for it without changing the TT :D . The only problem with the Technics IMO is it is too easy to cart swap and you find yourself with a lot of different carts
