bass feedback (technics sl 1200mk2)

hey people, i have my turntable in the worst possible place: inside a wooden buffet with ascend speakers on top... yeah, i know, the whole thing resonates like a bloody cello! but there's literally nowhere else i can set up. i've set the speakers on sorbothane pads which has improved things dramatically, but at louder volumes i'm still getting low frequency feedback. any ideas would be seriously appreciated. thanks.

At low frequencies the polarity of the speakers can be significant, you can try inverting the polarity of both speakers, swap the red and black wires of BOTH channels at the speakers.

The technics is one TT that deals well with external vibrations, if you are having problem really try and find a better location. How about a wall shelf, or even speaker brackers and fit the speakers on the wall.Different TT feet may help a little, but the rubber donuts that Technics already have are meant to isolate in a club, so really relocation is the best move if you can find a way to do it.

My worry about the whole thing about were the TT is currently is the plinth will also be picking up vibrations directly, more so if the lid is fitted. Removing the lid may help as currently with the lid fitted it wil be amplifying the boom to the plinth and cart. Really though, try to think 'outside the box' :D and think if you can move anything err out of the box :D
