Pl 12D - Rubber Cushions (For Motor) - How To Get New Ones?

the final frontier

I'm glad you fixed it. :D If the motor grommets have deteriorated then the foam in the suspension springs will almost certainly be crumbly. I found that the foam from a cheap plastic bath sponge was almost an exact match, and did the job perfectly.

PS - you should be able to lift the metal plinth far enough away from the base to replace the suspension spring foam without removing any cable restraints.

You're right, crumbly foam it was! This has now been replaced by some soft, squashy packing foam that I had lying around....seems fine. I didn't fill in the full height of the springs or compress the foam too much so as not to make everything too stiff.

I am also going to put 2mm 'Isolation' foam on the spring rests. (One of the springs had some sort of washer on it when I removed the chassis) This will compress to about 1mm under load so should have minmal effect on the level of the chassis.

...sorry, missed this...had to remove the bracket screwed to the back of the plinth to allow reasonable access to the springs...allowed me to pull through the mains and phono cables and totally free up access to the plinth and the chassis... :D

All good stuff. As a final check you might want to make sure the plinth is perfectly level after you've put the isolation foam in (I think that was the purpose of the washers Pioneer put under some or all of the springs, as spacers to level the plinth). Adjust it by putting in extra spacers as required.
