I have made a tonearm. I use the tip of a ballpoint als pivot bearing. The other side in a drilled hole of 3 millimeter. Has anyone any experience with this?

So Thats how a unipivot5 arm works?
Would a sharper point not be better? Like a needle for instance?

The tonearm is still under construction. So I could not say if it works. The arm is quite stable. I don't know if a needle gives better result.

Beautiful - reminds me of Star Trek and a klingon Bird Of Prey.

An excellent piece of engineering is that arm of yours.

Hello.

Nice work, well done! Have you tried fitting a cartridge yet? I would assume that the balancing will then alter somewhat?

The ballpoint is a nice idea but perhaps it will create more friction than maybe a loudspeaker metal spike would.

I hope you will document progress for us.

Regards,

Victor.
