Anyone After An Alphason Arm?

Postby ProfTournesol » 14 Jun 2011 13:52

If anyone is after an Alphason arm, there's one for sale on www.stereo.net for AUD$775.
Details:
Item: Alphason HR100S Tonearm
Location: Adelaide
Item Condition: V.Good
Reason for selling: Too many tonearms. Need cash for other upgrades.
Price: $775 plus paypal and shipping costs
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: Has factory damped armtube and silver wiring. Bearings are smooth, no notches, no play. An all time classic arm. Linn fit. Headshell wires have been resoldered and had shrink tube applied which looks a little messy but works fine, hence condition is only v.good. Rest of the arm is in excellent unmarked condition. Titanium doesn't mark easy.
regards
Michael

If it really does have silver wiring it will have 'MCS' on the label - the MCS were better built than the 'standard version' - an incredibly articulate and stable platform for a cartridge indeed, someone will get lucky with that ! :)

For anyone who's got themselves an earlyish PT without arm and wants to get it up and running - I still got an Alphason Delta on a std steel PT1 armboard. Has only been installed on my PT and saw just 1 cartridge change (by a professional) in its time with me.

Make me an offer. :)

That's a really good price and it's not an old design, just one of the best

the price is certainly higher because the Aussie dollar (formerly known as the Pacific peso) isn't worthless for once:)

Well it's you all who need to bring obvious proofs & measurements that a discontinued tonearm from a defunct firm is state of the art & you've to pay hundreds of $ for it used !
