Anniversary On Ebay

light fantastic

Postby 13oots2 » 15 May 2011 23:43

It seems this thread is getting a few views, thought I would ask again if anyone had a spare suspension bolt for a PT1 or PT Too. I need the longer left side bolt or if anyone knows the exact thread size. Have tried several common sizes and all are too big or too small.

Cheers

Hi

I have a short one going spare, can it be used (70mm long total)?

Have looked at thread data - have you tried 4BA - looks pretty close.

Thank you very much for the offer but is sadly a tad too short. I haven't tried 4BA thread and have only tried metric, will order some this Wednesday and report back on how it goes.

Thanks for all the help once again

Pt Anni On Ebay

Postby horfield » 17 May 2011 23:20

I have to own up as being the buyer of the Anniversary on ebay. I was lucky in on sense that I only live 2 miles away from the seller, so I was able to give a thorough check before bidding. Every works fine, and it is in pristine condition. I've always wanted one of these decks since I had demonstrated it in about 1993. Could not afford it at the time. Anyway my PT Export has PSU/Motor issue and runs to slow, so upgrading this would cost £780 if I went for the K-drive. All I need now is FXR II (like Cyclopse) and a ZYX R100 cart. It's going difficult to persuade my wife on this one, but i'll be working on it.

Silly, but it feels better that I was beaten by someone on VE! Congratulations... FXRII is well worth it if you can slip one past SWMBO!

Anni Arm Board Issues

Postby horfield » 22 May 2011 12:54

I'm hoping to mount my Origin Live Silver + AT OC-9 cart to my newly acquired Anniversary as soon a I can obtain a new Arm Board from Funk Firm. They have advised me that I can supply one (it will have to be newer Rega style 3 point mounting), and promised that they will email me their PayPal account details so that I can pay them, as they don't accept credit cards. So far no email rec'd. Phoned them again, but they said they were busy but would get around to emailing me their account details. Unfortunately, I can't just swop the arm board on my Export over, as stupidly I did not realise that the Anni board is different from other PT's. Until then I'll have to wait on FF, unless anybody on VE has spare REGA arm board for a PT ANNI that they want to sell. Just have to be patient (which I'm finding difficult). Soon as the TT is up and running properly i'll PM a picture on the forum.

Sounds typical Arthur. Useless to the n'th degree.

Try Emporium shed from E-Bay. I was under the impression it is the kind of thing they keep in stock. Otherwise can you not make a temporary conversion of the existing board? Or make a new one? Should be easy enough. If it gets the deck running......

The existing arm board on the Anni is for any SME fit. Posssibly I could to something with this to convert it to Rega fit if pushed. I rather not try and change the arm board on my Export, as this would have to be permanent (would need to be reduced in height by approx 7mm to fit the Anni). Don't feel proficient enough to make one myself, but if there is anybody on the forum who could do this for me, I would happily recompense them.

I had a similar issue with my own Logic except that the SME cut out was made in to the slab aluminium of the sub.

Simply covered with a piece of perspex (quick choice material and no real scientific approach. Just needed it to run) and used the existing SME holes to bolt it down. Cut the appropiate hole for a Hadcock and as it happened it went straight through the SME cut.

Removable and always go back to the SME if required.

Yep, early ones have individual pitch controls for 33/45. Later ones don't.

I have one of each :)

Oddly, my Anni #130 (9 before the one on Ebay) doesn't have the individual pitch controls.. Perhaps it was added for a bit then removed again - personally I feel they spoil the clean lines of the PSU.

Message For Tim Bissell- Re At33ptg

Postby horfield » 27 Jun 2011 18:10

Tim,

Just wondered what your thoughts are on the AT33PTG. Is it comparable to the OC9 MLII sonically. Does it track well? My OC9 can track the Track 9 'torture track' on Hi Fi news test record. I gues you had to purchase your cart from abroad, how did you pay for taxes/duty. Any info would be helpful in choosing my next cart.
