Anniversary On Ebay

light fantastic

Postby Cyclopse » 11 May 2011 10:12

It's a genuine Funk Firm carbon fibre and balsa armboard. The top plate I cut myself and its the same as the base genuine carbon fibre.

The motor is not mounted to either the top plate or the Aerolam platform like the Anniversary. Mine sits in Marine Plywood which is attached to the plinth.

Thanks

Thought you may like the design idea Ross. Yes there is a picture on the camera. Will upload it tonight.

Any motor vibration stays in the plywood and is no where near the bearing platform or the top plate because there is a layer of felt between the top plate and Marine Ply.

As for the Carbon Fibre it was £80 for a sheet large enough to construct a top and bottom plate. I got it from one of the car sites that specialises in Carbon Fibre mods.

Thanks

nice one Cyclopse, not much vibration then. I know the OL motors are quiet as i have one on my PT1 but your idea would solve a number of issues, was it difficult to do?

No not really. Just a case of building up the layers and link the layers with brass screws so they can be moved if required. Its a good attempt at a Ani.

Cyclopse,

Regarding your armboard. is this one that you are able to buy from Funk Firm and if so how much? Also, what type of mount does the FXR arm use. It looks a bit like a new type Rega mount.

They do different mounts for the FXR and mine is the SME fit. Yes Funk Firm do make the arm boards and I believe they are about 65 pounds.

Thanks

So who won it then?

Maybe they sold it because it don't sound good with the armboard installed the wrong way? It should be turned 180 degrees.
When I bought mine at sevenoaks it was 90 degrees turned...
Funny the two extra buttons on the powersupply, mine with serialnumber 304 doesn't have them. Only inside you can finetune the speeds.

Yep, early ones have individual pitch controls for 33/45. Later ones don't.

I have one of each :)
