Micro Seiki Rx1500

I have used the Micro Seiki K-5 thread today on my RX-1500.
It is better than any other material I used so far. It is actually the same sonically as the surgical thread I used before. I’m very happy with this K-5 and also since I only paid 46 Euros for it and not the money that the German shop was asking for the used one.

What kind of thread is it ? I mean material. Is there any thread similar to the K-5 available in the market ? I have a La Platine and I'm using the original Verdier supplied thread. Not bad but I wonder is there any good thread out there. What kind of knot you are using to tie the K-5 thread ?

By the way your Micro is one fine TT. One of my Hi-Fi buddy has one. I used to have the Micro Series 3000 TT. I really like the Micro motor.

What do you hear differently after you added the weight to your Micro ?

Here are the instructions from the Micro Seiki's manual

Loosen the tension adjustment screw on the motor unit with a large hex wrench.
After turning the pulley in the direction of the turntable, make a loop large enough to go
around the outside of the pulley and turntable, cut the string, and make a tight knot.
After you have made the knot, cut off the end of the string (before making the knot, if
you rub the end of the thread back and forth between your fingers to 'take out the
twisting' of the thread, the knot will be better).

To tell you the trough I have no idea what kind of material it is. Is woven synthetic threads. Looks like surgical thread but is not as dense. The story is that sonically is very good.
Now the RW-1500 weight that I added to my TT made a grade change. The sound got very tight all the way from bass to very top. The picture now is rock solid and overall way better than it used to be… and was super good to start with. If you know someone that has a TT like that advice him to add the part… he will be very happy.

So, this morning I finally managed to find the time to change the set-up.



The Blue Goldspot is on a Technics EPA-100 now, much heavier than the SME3012-S2.
(I have the Klipsch MCZ-10 Ruby on the SME now)

Sounds great.

Ok now I think is a better combination. The matching of the Kiseki and the EPA-100 is fine and I’m sure you got very good results.
Can you tell me the about the Klipsch MCZ-10 Ruby cartridge since I never got across one of them.
Is that the one made by Miyabi in the 80’s and was the same as the Mark Levinson Cello cartridge? I had one of those long time ago.

these Klipsch cartridges were manufactured by the Zenn company from Japan.



At present, the FR tonearm in the picture is not mounted. It's waiting for a new
