I have uploaded some brochures to my web site at http://stereo.toups.info/

The following speakers are covered:

Syngergistics Speaker Sales Brochure for the S12B, S22B, S23, S33, S46, S51C, S53, S63, and S73 model speakers. This brochure is from the mid 1970's.

Syngergistics Speaker Sales Brochure for the S-12A, S-22A, S-32A, S-42A, S-51A, S-52A, S-62A, and S-72A model speakers. This brochure is from the mid 1970's.

Comparator Wharfedale Achromatic Loudspeaker Systems brochure detailing the W90D, W70D, W60D, W40D, W30D, and W20D model speakers. This brochure is from approximately 1967.

Hopefully someone finds these useful.

Those are wondeful to look at, thanks very much toups :D I have quite a few RTR brochures from the early 70's and would gladly provide them but finding them on demand would be almost impossible right now. Seeing that Synergistics evolved from RTR, that made your brochures particularly interesting to me. Many of the drivers are naturally the same, although they did go from black to a white paper woofer cone on some of the later models. The crossovers appear identical in their outward appearances. Very cool stuff, thanks again for providing them.

I know this post is old but thanks for the scans. I have the Wharfedale W20D's that I picked up for $5 from Goodwill. I have been looking for info on them.

Thanks again, Chuckles :)

So how do they sound? I have always liked the concept of 8" 2-ways for a minimalist solution. 8" woofers are able to go reasonably low and when combined with a good tweeter it is not a bad solution. Not sure the tweeters are being asked to do much, but for reasonable volumes these are probably great. Don't overdrive them though.

Are the tweeters working?

Hi Toups,

Thanks a lot for having put this valuable information at the disposal of the VE community.
I was looking for some info about the W30D's I bought in South Africa back in 1969.
They only came with a very basic owner'sheet, explaining how to connect and place them, but not a word about the technical aspects and figures.
I also learned about the acoustic suspension enclosures.
I'm still using them daily and they do justice to my Dual 1019 (bought at the same time!)
They are connected to a 36 watt RMS Marantz SR 430, and are sounding very nice in my office (3x5m room).
Do you think however there could be any clipping or overpowering danger?
Thank you for your comments!

Cheers,

Hugh.
