Micro Seiki Rx1500

perfectly formed

Postby lynnot » 04 Dec 2010 10:53

Hello Kyriakos,

I agree on the sub-optimal match, the Blue Gold-spot definitely likes a heavier arm!

With respect to a belt, I use the Micro Seiki K-5 wire, similar to this K-15. (click for picture)

Have not yet experimented with others though.

Thanks for the information. Can you please tell me where I can find a Micro Seiki K-5 or K-15wire?
Best regards
Kyriakos

Hi, guys!
i was looking for wire for my RX1500 some times ago and a friend of mine, a fisherman, gave some fishing thread, actually Kevlar similar to my K-5 wire. I would be pleased to have your source for K-5 or K-15.
You can see my TTs here : http://www.vinylengine.com/phpBB2/album ... ch=Docjowe

congratulations for your RW1500! I have the gunmetal platter, do you think i can use the Rw1500 on my Rx1500VG ?

Hallo Joseph,

from a reliable source I learned that you can use a simple cotton wire as well.

With respect to the RW-1500, I would expect that you don't need it. Since the
aluminium platter is 2,8kg and the bronce platter is >9kg. The the RW-1500 is
meant to compensate for the weigt of the motor unit RY-1500 when that is
being taken of from the RX-1500 platter section.

Don't expect it to be over 6kg!

Rgds, L

PS: have sent you a message as well.

I agree 100% that you don't need the RX-1500 with your configuration since you have the heavy platter and also vacuum system. I needed since I use the aluminum one. The RX-1500 that I made from soft iron is 6.6Kg. The surgical thread is a very good solution but I can’t find long one any more (you need 1.5m) I only can find 0.75m ones. I have never used K-5 or K-15 so I would like to do so. The price is a killer though. The best belt that I used so far is the thin fish line.

Best regards
Kyriakos

I just purchased a new in the box Micro K-5 thread for 46 Euros including postage to Greece from a shop in Hong Kong. I think that was better than the German shop that asking more money for a used one and without postage. :D

As soon as I receive the K-5 I will let you know how is performing compared to all the rest of the belts I used so far.
Stay tuned.

I have used the Micro Seiki K-5 thread today on my RX-1500.
It is better than any other material I used so far. It is actually the same sonically as the surgical thread I used before. I’m very happy with this K-5 and also since I only paid 46 Euros for it and not the money that the German shop was asking for the used one.
