when you tried that, did you have room in front of the cartridge to move it forward? how much farther forward must it move?
the headshell could also be quite tall and a spacer could help so the cartridge looks out more from the bottom of the headshell. so this adapter plate could take care of a few problems at once.

send me a few fotos of the inside of the headshell to my www. , one close up and one wider with a measure next to it.

no the dl103 was flat against the shell head, no forward adjustment possible, and the diamond was not at he desired distance from arm pivot

you need a ortofon headshell that is made for your arm. might be this is the only one with the correct possible distance.

just for 'fun'. check again your spindle to pivot distance. the sme headshell should be compatible.
