Hi,

Can anyone tell me the value of this? It belonged to my husband but he passed away a couple of years ago and I'd like to downsize and sell some of the stereo equipment I don't use. Thanks! There are pics in my personal gallery.

That style of Denon turntable often sell for a pretty good price on ebay. I don't know exactly how to set a firm price for posting it for sale, but if you could possibly sell on ebay directly or thru an ebay seller, it should bring a good price. But it also depends on condition. In perfect or near perfect condition you might be looking at a few hundred dollars. If you have all the bits that go with it, that is a plus. Having a cartridge on it is not the most important aspect but that may add value if it is known to be good. The bits that go with it are the dust cover, and the manual, and if it has extra balance weights, and an extra arm wand that adds value to it. I think it is the model with the arm wands that can be swapped from a straight arm to an S curve arm. Having both with it adds value. I would have to say more than 250$, maybe alot more in bidding if it works, is nice condition and has the accessories with it.

Betty,
The Denon DP-72L can bring up to $800 on the used market depending on condition. The working condition of the table, the cosmetic state of the plinth and dustcover, whether you have all of the original packaging materials (original boxes) and just the general condition of everything about the unit set the price.

The Denon DP-62L, which was the model immediately below the DP-72L in the early 80s, has sold for as much as $650 on the used market. I am familiar with these models because I own a DP-62L which I purchased new in 1981 (if my memory serves me correctly) and I have been in this insane hobby for over 40 years.

Feel free to contact me about this and I'll find out what I can to make sure you get the best price you can.

Who knows? I may be interested in some of the gear for sale.
