Thanks Abril, very good of you.

Satanfriendly,
The first time I heard a PT1 was when I used PT#1 (see above) with
it's damaged bearing. This was a couple of months back.
I realised then that I was definitely going in the right direction.
Even in that state it was an upgrade from my LPT.
What are you hoping to achieve with a heavier tube and counterweight.

My own counterweight is suffering the usual sag so was in for a change anyway.

On the suggestion of J7 the heavier arm tube to make it more compatible with my choice of cartridge (OC9 and a 12g Blue Note Boboli). I have two arm tubes so worth the try.

One tube is presently 'stuck' on the mounting and hence why having to approach Audio Origami in the 1st place.

At the moment Abril I'm using Vincula's arm wand and I must say it's singing beautifully with the OC9 on the Ariston.

J7 has my own arm at this time and no doubt I wll see it in due course. All reved up and yes it has a place to go.

My PT has a new CF top plate I made the other day. No sonic difference, but it does look the better for it. And of course your cheese switch you kindly sent.

Have a Rotel phono stage (ex E-Bay ex Rolleye the PT owner!) on the PT for the Blue Note and the pink is tickling me as pink as you can get. Sounding awesome.

Thought I'd knackered another bearing when a scraping noise developed, but phew and thank God, the motor had mysteriously lifted and was making contact with the platter. No problem as easy to lower the motor being as it protrudes out of the top plate on my deck.

PT vs Ariston RD110? Close call and a bit unfair as the two decks couldn't be more chalk and cheese, but for the serious stuff the PT is still the one to beat.

And all of that just to say, 'the 774 is bloody wonderful'.
