I didn't think to enlarge the photo- need to get used to fact these photos are more than thumbnails. Well the part is still available on EBay
so I will probably bid. Meanwhile I have posted elsewhere at J7's advice.

Fitted the DL-160 yesterday. One of the screws broke off when trying to
remove the old cart. Had to drill through.
The 160 sounds better than the VMS30 II

Update-

On the 'new' deck a new 774 baseplate is under construction to SME
dimensions. Nearly finished. The now deck has a shiny black gloss top plate and is looking good.

For the 'old' deck I now have a replacement bearing and motor control pcb from EPay. The seller said he could have sold the bearing four times over.
I just need the rear transport adjustment screw which was missing and my local ironmonger wasn't sure what size it was when I took in the one from the new deck.
Any ideas? Anyone have a spare one ?
I will sell the old PT1 now I have (nearly) all the parts to get it going. It would have been nice to hang on to both though.

I have managed to buy a spare PT1 motor in case the one in the 'new'
PT1 fails at some time in the future.

Thanks Abril but I now have one. I went to my local ironmonger, then
Maplin's then the bike shop and the clock repairer but at the washing machine repairer's I was directed to another ironmonger's!
It was a 4BA or something like that.
I am going to use Wulf's formula for both PT1 bearings with sewing machine
oil and Molyslip.

Latest state of Pink affairs.

Well the original PT1 I bought - the subject of this post had problems. It
was set aside for spares when I bought a second PT1.
Miraculously I got hold of a spare bearing for PT1 #1 and some other
bits so it will be going to a new home soon.
PT1 #2 now fully sorted after help provided from someone on 'The Crossover Network'. The armboard I use was drilled incorrectly for the 774 arm.
Now the arm has a new counterbalance - thanks Abril, and a low
mileage DL-304. It's well...sublime.
Next step is to have a go at making an armboard like Abril's.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Great things can come with patience and I'm glad it all worked out well for you.

Sounds like you are now sold by the magical sound of the PT, just like the rest of us. Sublime? It'll get better yet.

Hi

Great to hear all's well and the c/weight has arrived safe and well, was fortunate to pick up the spare amazingly in good condition in an auction in a 774 box with all 3 damper paddles,an original auxiliary counterweight ring, all 4 mounting screws and the syringe with some fluid. :D

Seems we have a near identical setup.
Hope to have the armboard off this weekend and will take some dimensions off it ready to be posted later.
What armboard are you using at the moment?

The arm board is aluminium. I haven't got any dampers. In fact I have lost the single bias weight. Using some solder for now. Need to look in the the vacuum bag -yuk.
From what I've read some people swear by dampers and others swear at them!
What's the consensus?

I have a spare heavy damper paddle and a copy bias weight J7 made for me.
Yours FOC except for a small donation to VE?
I do think they add a small element of extra depth and control

I would love the parts Abril. I've had a look around VE but haven't so far
discovered how I might make a contribution. I think VE is a very worthy
cause!

Obviously I was wrong.
Bits in the post to you shortly anyhow.

All you need then is damper fluid - suggest diff silicon oil for RC motors - very thick - probably in the region of 100000Cst

And where on earth did you find one of them! I have an old knackered item, but it will be going to a new home when I'm next on leave.

I will be going the same way as youresleves with my own 774. New heavier counterwieght and hopefully a slightly heavier arm tube at the same time. J7 of course. Plus I have new home made CF top plate to go in place. Ran out of time my last leave.

Is this the first time you've heard a PT Avinuca? I recall being equally gobsmacked when needle first met vinyl on my own.
