New baby boy and the size of the new loft I'm decking out to give a home to my 57's and Mag Audio full range ribbons drove me outta the City.

Can't wait to use up all dat space. :D

Regards all and anyone welcome if dere in ma neck a da woods.

Hello everybody,
I live in Aalst Belgium, which is halfway between Brussels and Gent. One of the most polluted areas of Europe. I am working as an IT engineer for a major US software company. Since my youth I was always fidling with sound equipment and I still have this as a hobby. It all started 20 years ago when I got for free the TD124 turntable with SME3012 of my Latin teacher... so I started saving turntables from the dust bin

Where in the world.....

Postby vinylist » 22 Nov 2004 14:45

Hi all, I live in the utmost south of the Netherlands. In a small town named Vaals (pop. ca 10000), in the beautiful hills in the province of Limburg, the most beautiful place of Holland to live in!!! We limburgians love the burgundy life-style and we know how to throw a party and how to enjoy ourselves. I noticed that there are also some Russians on this board. So here a question for them: aren't there any interesting vintage russian broadcast turntables, русские проигрыватели???????? Greetings to you all out there. С уважением Maurice.

I'm in Santa Barbara, California - gratefully 90 miles North of Los Angeles.

Good wines, fine horses, fancy cars (you can street park your ferrari), friendly natives, sun, surf and home to the Beach Boys. Also known affectionatly as the home of the newly wed and nearly dead. Currently prosecuting Michael Jackson for child molestation. Top notch Mexican food. "Mellow, Laid Back" alternates with, "Dig Me". Will party at the drop of a sombrero and call it, "fund raising". Fantastic natural beauty - scary property values. Generous people who will invite you into their homes and share anything they have with you. Rich ol' farts with private guards. Come visit and you WILL believe in California girls.

First I would like to say this is an intersting thread for sure, and thanks to you all for keeping vinyl from becoming a lost art. New York City is where I hail from, maybe some of you might have heard of it. Although it's not quite as sweet & exotic as some of the locales I've read about here it's home to me. Appox. 5 miles from Ground Zero (WTC). One thing is for sure, if you can survive here you've got a good chance anywhere else in the world. Lots of money to be made, people of every race-color of the spectrum and culture. Metropolis by day Gotham City by night. The city that never sleeps. I love it to death.

East Coast...USA

Postby EdAInWestOC » 27 Mar 2005 05:26

I live in Ocean City, MD USA. Its a barrier island vacation town. Beaches...water sports...golf...etc. Population is about 8000 year round and at the height of summer there are over 250,000 people here. Needless to say I prefer the off season.

I live in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture, Japan. Sendai is a city of one million people on the biggest island of Honshu. It is about 360 Km North of Tokyo on the Pacific coast. Sendai is a provincial capital, education center and a busy port in the northern area known as Tohoku — the northern part of Honshu. In the winter it is colder and spring comes later than in the Kanto (Tokyo) and areas south. It is humid and warm, in the summer, but not so much as in the south. Still, an audiophile should check on the operating conditions of his/her gear in July and August especially. Sendai is an education center with a number of tertiary educational institutions and universities. There are audiophiles in Sendai, but support has almost completely vanished in recent years. Down south is of course a different story, because audio has an extremely vibrant culture there. Sendai along with Sapporo (on Hokkaido) is considered to be one the most pleasant Japanese cities to live in. My hometown is Vancouver, Canada. — Lorne

I live in Finchampstead, on the border of Berks and Hants here in the south of England. The nights are very quiet, just the right 'low' background noise for listening.
