fidelity research transformers - looking for specs !

Postby Seb » 15 Dec 2005 17:35

Hi,

I'm collecting data relating to Fidelity research transformers. Please indicate any info you're having relating to those tranformers ! (in fact, if the impedances negociated with that kind of transformer are very esay to find, I'm having no idea about their gains !)

regards

FRT-3, FRT-3G (I think L and M version were produced, not sure) FRT4, FRT-5 and XF-1

the data I'm having actually are :

FRT-3 : 10 and 30 ohms settings, 33db and 27db gain
FRT-3G 3-10 ohms and 15-40 ohms settings, gain ?
FRT-3M : ???
FRT-3L : ???
FRT-4 : 3, 10, 30, 100 ohms, gain ? (<- I would like to have this one !)
FRT-5 : 3-10 ohms, gain ?
FR XF-1 : 4-18 ohms, gain 30 db

just confirm if the data I'm having are good and if you can complete them, you're welcome !!

Seb

I have;

FRT-3 = 10 Ohms & 30 Ohms plus 'pass' with gains of 26dB or 20x and 31dB or x30 respectively.

FRT 4 = 20Hz-30kHz with 'pass' and 3;10;30 and 100 ohms gains of 31;26; 25; and 20dB.

Fidelix = Battery powered 5Hz - .5mHz (-3dB) 2 input gains of 26dB and 32dB with input inpedance at 100 ohms almost the same for both settings.

Hope this helps

joyeux noel toi même !
"about 30db", not enought precise man !

and since there is two settings, there should be two values for the gain.

(dis moi, j'ai révé ou tu as trouvé une cellule mieux que la 103R !)

cordialement/regards

Hi Seb

I reproduce following data from Hi-Fi Stereo Guide 1976 & 1984:

From 1976
FRT-3: Imp10/30 Ohm Step-up Ratio:x31/x26(i.e. 30/28dB?)
FRT-4: Imp3/10/30/100 Ohm Step-up:x36/x21/x18/x11 (31/26/25/21dB?)
------------------------
From 1984
FRT-3G: Imp3-10/15-40 Ohm Step-up:33dB/27dB
XG-5: Imp less than 3/3-18/18-40 Step-up:34/26/22dB
XF-1 Type M:4-18 Ohm 30dB
XF-1 Type H:19-40 Ohm 25dB
XF-1 Type L:3 Ohm 36dB

Have the 3G; Input Impedance: Low - 3ohms to 10ohms, high - 15ohms to 40ohms

No mention of gain at the back...

Here is a link, nothing much on specs but gives some descriptions about each model... http://www.audioinvest.no/fr/index4.htm
