My LP12 is at the Doctor's...

Postby Popey » 23 Jun 2012 12:42

Today I took my LP12 to Simon at the Audiofiles...
He's going to service the deck - new spring, belt, oil and that sort of thing. He's also going to fit a Lingo and a new Benz Micro Ace Low cartridge (replacing a rather aged Ortofon MC10 Supreme).

I should get it back next weekend. I can't wait!
Cheers

Just had a brief conversation with Simon. He now has my cartridge. It's looking like next weekend is going to be vinyltastic! :D

Simon at the Audio Files is indeed a top bloke.
My LP12 has now had a well-earned service and a new Benz Micro Ace L cartridge fitted, as well as a second hand Mk 1 Lingo, which replaced the Valhalla board.

As well as doing this, he took the top plate off and cleaned it for me. It gleams like a new pin!

As far as the sound is concerned, well, I'm absolutely delighted and it can only get better as the cartridge runs in.

I would definitely recommend him if you need any work done on your LP12.
Cheers
