linn axis running slow until warmed up?

Postby silvertone » 25 May 2012 01:39

anyone venture a guess why the linn table runs a touch slow until an hours worth of run time, then seems all is fine.....any ideas?

I've swapped out all 4 of the larger caps already,
the belt is new and
it is lubed up and turns nice.

so I'm guessing something electronic either on the board or relating to the motor?

edit: Actually , I think it's still running slow even after warm up. Seems like 3-4 secs longer for typical 3-4 min song. It's noticeable......anyone know what part of the electronics can be used to speed this up? a resistor somewhere?

There are a couple of variable resistors accessible through the base of the plinth. They're not big and they may have blanking covers over them but they do the job. I can't even remember if they're marked 33 and 45.

If you don't have a strobe to measure you can always count 100 revs in 3m dead. A strobe is a good thing to have though!

thanks for the info....spent some time on it and got it dialed in. the trim pot is very sensitive (insensitive) and a little bit of turn does alot (too much), but seems good now. thanks again....
