Need pillar plug for Linn arm -- for DIY cable

Postby MusicallyBiased » 03 Jun 2012 03:53

Hi,
I'm looking for a right-angle din plug to fit a DIY cable for a Linn tonearm; it needs be good quality but not horribly expensive. I've looked at RS, but I didn't find anything.
Has anyone here done a similar project?

I doubt you will find a cheap one,its a pretty specialised item and the folk who make/sell these know it and seem to charge accordingly, may be easier buying a 2nd hand lead from ebay with one fitted, remove and reuse that, they somtimes come up at a reasonable price

Thanks, that one looks like excellent value.

I've also seen:

Any other suggestions?

I've checked around nearly everywhere I could think of and whatever available are not cheap to import to my doorstep. Just have to fork out the dosh if really desire it.These are really specialized products and prices of a lot of TT related thingys are going up up up. Frightening prospect.

I recently bought a cable fitted with the Right angle DIN by 1877Phono (i.e. link from parts connexion above) and it is just perfect. I have used the straight version in the past as well for DIY and I was very satisfied. The right angle is nicely machined and from the manufacturer's description it appears to meet and exceed the specs of more expensive products. I imagine it would not be too difficult to use for DIY. I did not ever see anything less expensive to recommend.
