I bought the DP-60M a couple of months ago after spotting an online Ad for it. It is in absolutely terrific condition and obviously has experienced very little use. I've arranged to have all of the Electrolytic Capacitors replaced with HiQ replacements via a local technician. I'll also get him to solder all of the wire-twist connections too, even though they look like new, it's one less thing to worry about.
When I get it back, I'll put a CRO on the Motor Speed test-points and make what ever adjustments are dictated by the results. After that, it will take pride of place and start work playing through the several hundred records I've managed to collect over the decades. Gonna be fun....
I actually started my vinyl habit in the mid 60s and carried this through until the mid 80s when CDs made their tumultuous début. Like a lot of fellow VE-ers though, I became disenchanted with the output quality of the vast majority of CDs and decided to drag out all of my analogue gear again. I've got a couple of Sugden BD-103s, one with a fairly unique Jelco 266mm EL Tonearm fitted which has always sounded very nice (to me), a small collection of cartridges which still work well after all this time. Also bought one of the SAE 1000LT HOMC cartridges recently, that was being given high marks by several owners here and elsewhere. I can only concur with what other owners have said about this beauty - I love it.
That's my brief history James; hope I haven't bored you to tears though mate
Will definitely report back once the DP-60M is up and running, with what ever cartridge I end up fixing to it. It's all a lot of fun, I must say...
You take care too mate.
Cheers,
Mal.
