What Are Your Favorite And Least-Favorite B Sides?

Fave B side has to be "Antes Del Final" by the Chilean band En Busca Del Tiempo Perdido. Why this was relegated to the B side I have no idea. They only managed an output of a few 45s and then disappeared from the scene.

A search on you tube shows that they reformed a few years back. Wow they are still electrifying. Funnily enough this is the B side from their second single. Expect to pay upwards of $200 each for these. Only 2 copies have surfaced in the last 10 years.

One of my favourite B Sides is Genesis 'Twilight Alehouse', a brilliant track that never made an album and was on the other side to the hugely successful 'I Know What I Like (In your Wardrobe)'.

"Jeane" by the Smiths. B side to the even more wonderful This Charming Man.

Sandie Shaw covered it brilliantly...

Another favorite B side is "Can't You See I'm Trying" by Jimmy Gilmer & The Fireballs. Should have been an A side of it's own. A side the excellent "Bottle Of Wine" on Atco.

Possibly not to everybody's taste, but this definitely belongs on a list of top B's IMO

The B side to Elton Johns' "Crocodile Rock" 45 was "Elderberry Wine". That was always one of my favorites.

My favorite was actually a reissue, but it contained a song I had never even heard before. It was Stealers Wheel doing Star. Naturally, since it was a reissue the A side is Stuck in the Middle with You. Both good songs.

Shorty Long's Vacation Rock/ Burnt Toast and Black Coffee on RCA. The A side is absolute rubbish. It was the other way around in the 80s, everyone wanted to hear the A side, now the B side sells the single for over $200 today.

The absolute best b-side ever:
The Turtles - Buzzsaw (flip side to You Showed Me)
Not one of my favorite bands by any stretch, but if they'd done more songs like this...

Pretenders - 2000 Miles (flip side to Middle of the Road)

Talking Heads - People Like Us (True Stories version with vocals by John Goodman)
(flip side to Wild Wild Life)
More for the novelty, but John Goodman's singing voice is actually pretty good!
I know it's only rock & roll, but I like it.
