My wife gave me this as a birthday present. It is not something that I would have picked for myself, but I didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. It has an internal amp and very weak speakers and no outputs to speak of. Is there a way to add RCAs to this thing? I have been searching online and only came up with one article that was relavent to my cause. They used the volume knob circuit board to tie-in the RCAs. Is this the proper method or is there a better way? Thanks in advance.
Thank you Alec, great idea. Being that I'm splicing into the speaker wires, the signal would already be amplified. Do you think this would pose a problem with my receiver or would I just need to keep the volume on the turntable adjusted down low?
Keep it down. It's like doing a patch from an iPod. As you have surmised, this unit is not worth a lot of work. After a while, you can buy a good used turntable, and say that the Crosley was an inspiration to move up.
