Ok, here's the thing, I have the opportunity to buy one of these three speaker sets. which would be the consensus pick,DCM TIMEFRAME TF-500 $165.00, Hafler mdl. 300 $250.00 or Jennings Research Contrara model 300 for $225.00.

DCM Timeframe's are well regarded as some of the best imaging speakers there are. The 500 does not have the bass you'll get in the Hafler. The Contrara will do pretty good with almost any music but once again your bass is limited. The Hafler is pretty good for it's size but not quite as good at imaging as the DCM's but close. The Hafler will also need less power to drive them. DCM's love power and eat it up. Contrara not so much. It's gonna depend a lot on what you're driving them with, musical taste and room size. Just remember the DCM's of any model have a VERY large following for good reason. It will also depend on the condition of the speakers. You have some good choices there and won't go wrong no matter which one you pick. Hafler is mainly known for his amp design and a couple of them are considered prizes to own to this day. I don't envy you your choice but I think you would be very happy with any of them.

Have you listened to any of them? If not why not? If you have, which ones did you like the most?

Buy the ones you like the most. If you haven't heard any of them I wouldn't buy anything. Buying speakers you haven't heard is the easiest way to get speakers you're not satisfied with.
