Speakers With Bass And Treble Controls

Postby Kieran1981 » 24 Sep 2011 04:17

I have a technics 1210 mk2 and a rubbish beringher phono stage and creative gigaworks t40 series 2 speakers at the moment. Anyway, I will definitely be upgrading the £20 phono stage around Christmas time, but I wouldn't mind getting better speakers. I want to beable to have speakers similar to the set up I have got now, but most of them don't have bass or treble controls.

I quite like the look of the Bowers & Wilkens MM1 speakers which are around £400 and meant to be pretty good small active speakers, but I don't think they have equaliser controls. Another option is a preamp with these controls on, can they be bought?

In general I want a small system that sounds good. I don't want huge speakers or amplifiers. Anyone got any ideas?

A quick look around the facility shows that some our active monitors have bass & treble (driver amp gain controls?) but most don't or have limited-range switches. You're probably better off looking for EQ options upstream.

Check out the JBL LSR 4326P: http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/support/g ... &docid=858

They also have volume control, so you don't need a preamp.
