hafler and adcom

Just purchased on ebay a Hafler 220 and a adcom 5500. Anyone have either of these amps and can give me the good and bad about the amps. I have a Nikko 440 and it sounds pretty good .

No experience with the Hafler or Nikko, but I have lots of experience with Adcom gear. Generally they are well built, durable, and will handle difficult speakers with no problems. Some will say that Adcom amps lean a little towards the analytical side, but that has not been my experience. I find them to be pretty neutral in character. Adcom amps are known for their strong bass.

A read I review stating that this paticular amp sounds the closest to a tube amp then any other amp. Nikko made optics during wwii, this model has 200wpc I have it bi-amped to my Polk RTI12s they are power hungry. Im retired on disability and I buy equip. thats not too expensive, limited budget.

Spose you'll be finding out how they sound soon personally. I've had a Hafler 220 for quite some years. It's a fine amp, great bass, great overall performance. You will not regret purchasing it. Hope you got a good deal on it.

Hi,

mine is the Hafler DH-220. Great amplifier!
No problems since assembling the kit in 1985.
