i got given a cambridge audio P50 but alas only one channel works, then to my horror my technics su7700 started with the same symptoms. i know theyre not top flight stuff but are they worth spendin on or should i write them off and get new?

First thing to try with an older amp is to clean all switches and pots with a good contact cleaner inside of them.

Is it one of the "original" P50's or the later one?If its the original they were noted as being an extremely nice sounding amp but also very unreliable,the later ones didn't have the same reputation for either

How do you know its not the input component that isnt running on both channels.
